As a Palm™ certified trainer with expertise in the Palm OS® and over 20 years of personal experience as a K-12 educator and trainer, I specialize in the educational application of handheld computers by Palm™ for administration, teaching and learning. 

Handheld Computer Training for Educators

A Palm OS® handheld computer can be used for much more than a date book or address book.  Training will enable participants to effectively use the built-in applications as well as many other applications. 

Basic Palm OS® Handheld Skills for Educators - 1 Day 

  • Master input methods (Graffiti®, On-screen keyboard, Infrared Beaming, Bluetooth®).
  • Master core functions of a Handheld computer (Date Book, Address Book, Memo Pad, Note Pad, To Do List). 
     

Curriculum Applications for Palm OS® Handheld Computers - 1 Day 

  • Learn how handheld computers fit into the curriculum 
  • Hands-on with a variety of curriculum software and hardware handheld computer enhancements, including free and low-cost applications.

Advanced Palm OS® Handheld Skills for Educators - ˝ day each

  • Learn shortcuts and techniques that make you a "power-user"
  • Training is available for Documents-to-Go®, PowerOne® calculator, ImagiCalc® calculator, and/or other Palm OS® applications
  • Review curriculum specific hardware and software for the handheld computer
  • A training curriculum may be tailored to meet your exact needs

Individuals wishing to maximize the use of Palm OS® handheld computers in support of teaching and learning should schedule both the Palm OS® Basic Skills and Curriculum Applications for Palm OS® Handheld Computer workshops.

Here's a Tip:  

If you have the complete version of Adobe Acrobat (not just the reader) and wish to email a copy of your Date Book, follow these steps:

  • From the File menu, select Print
  • In the Print Options area, select the correct date or dates
  • In the Printer Area, select Acrobat Distiller
  • Click OK
  • You will be asked to select a Save In location and name for the PDF file
  • You can now send the PDF file as an attachment
